When I first came up with the idea of a digital time capsule, I was eager to try and record a video
as a test. I had no idea what it would be like.

Its funny, because the first thing I realised when I began recording was just how weird and |
unnatural it was. It was so unlike anything I’d ever done before, I mean, this was me talking to
myself in the future!
But… I really enjoyed it.

Despite feeling a bit weird on camera , the entire concept of speaking to my future self was
just mind blowing.

The Applications are Limitless

After sharing this process with many people from different backgrounds, I started to realise
just how many applications there could be for a product like this.

An expectant mother told me how she would use it to document the birth and significant
milestones of her child, she would lock that away in a time capsule till their 18th birthday. She
wanted to capture her thoughts, feelings and even her fears for herself and child as they grow

I was speaking to an older person about this and they said they would love to be able to send a
message to their unborn Grandchild that they may never meet as they had only been given a
short time to live.

There is not enough space as I could go on forever with ideas plus I don’t want to limit your
Imagination on how you can use Encapsulator. The applications are limitless!

Watching The Video Later

It’s been over 3 years since I first made my video, and just recently I took the opportunity to
re-watch what I had previously recorded. It was such profound experience, the first thing I
became aware of was how different I looked (in my opinion anyway).

As I started listening to myself, I realised I couldn’t remember answering these questions. It
was so interesting and satisfying to see that I was still on the same track, and my predictions
and goals I’d set for myself were coming true.

My last answer, in which I spoke about my relationship with my son, even brought a tear to my
eye. It made me realise just how well I had done over the past 3 years, and made me even
more excited to take this project public.

Thoughts and Realisations

I realised that not every individuals journey will go so well. The simple fact of life is that there
are many ups and downs, and some people just seem to be dealt the rough end of the stick.

I have a friend of that I had asked to record a video to themselves at the same time I did, and
he had not achieved all the goals he had set out for himself. But in his last answer to himself,
he spoke about his motivations and as a result he found the entire experience uplifting and
made him attack life with a renewed sense of purpose.

In testing this concept, I’ve captured over 65 people recording video messages to their future
selves, using the same format and structure, and as a result I have received some very positive
feedback. Without fail, every single person loved the experience and found it motivating
watching their video back later. I now want to help others.

It is so exciting that I’ve been able to get this project to a stage we can open it to the public.
Do not let this opportunity go, every moment in life is precious.
Capture them now!

Letting go is different for everyone depending on why the separation is occurring. It affects each of us with different emotional states and for different periods of time.

For some it’s letting go of a loved one who has always been by your side, for others it could be breaking free of a trauma bond, releasing a part of yourself that doesn’t bring you happiness or growth anymore or choosing a different path for your life that rids you of an emotional attachment to another, maybe it’s a culmination of all of these.

Regardless of your need to let go or your desire to feel free, the idea of this is never easy but it is a core experience we each face in this lifetime and from this program we reach out a hand to you in the form of video journal and offer you the opportunity to let go in a constructive way and adapt the idea of valuing the memories, appreciating the lessons learnt and understanding that every goodbye can offer you a new beginning.
